Pride

NELA at Boston Gay Pride

Boston Pride is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary and honoring our LGBTQI community's progress over these years. Come out and celebrate with us. (Be sure to check the full listings of Pride Events at http://www.bostonpride.org/multicalendar.php)

At exactly noon there will be a moment of silence to honor the people who cannot march in this year’s Pride Parade. They include those who are no longer with us because of AIDS and Homophobic Violence, and those who live under oppressive regimes that do not permit Pride marches.

The Boston Pride works all year long to bring this event to life and provide the best possible experience to all participants. Here are a couple pieces of advice and measures for all to enjoy the event safely:

  • Wear sunscreen! It will be a hot and sunny day, so bring a tube of sunscreen with you.
  • Bring water! The Boston Pride Committee cannot distribute water to the 1M+ crowd, so bring a bottle or two with you.
  • Have fun! Sing, chant, clap, dance for and with the spectators!
  • Watch out for kids - Make sure that children are safe and not running into the Parade vehicles of your group.
  • Respect the instructions from the Parade Staff and Volunteers - They are only doing their job and enforcing safety measures for the benefit of everyone
