Members of the Press wishing to attend a NELA meeting or class must follow this procedure:
A reporter wishing to attend must notify the NELA board via e-mail at least 2 weeks before the event, to request permission to attend. [Contact Us]
The NELA board will then approve or reject the request after consulting with the presenter(s) and the location.
If press access to the event is approved, the following rules must be observed:
- Press must identify themselves as such to everyone when they attend.
- The location of the event may not be disclosed beyond the city.
- No name (real or scene) may be used without permission. If a reporter cannot get in touch with the person to ask permission, then the name may not be used.
- No photographic or recording devices of any kind are permitted.
